About El Dorado Green Burial

My Name is Gretchen

Hello,

I am so happy you came to visit my website. I have lived in El Dorado County for over 25 years and am so honored at this time in my life to be able to offer my community natural burial. With a background working for the Green Burial Council which educates and certifies natural, hybrid and conservation cemeteries, and as a founding committee member for the Global Green Burial Alliance, I have a great love for cemeteries and all the the things you can do regarding them.  I also have experienced several of my own deep losses and have had to learn myself how to navigate and care for my own loved ones in a way that feels right for my family. I understand the challenge of death and loss not only on a superficial level but the how complicated things can be socially and spiritually.  I know how this can affect you and this is why I want to be able to help at this precious time in your lives. I have a deep desire and motivation to help you, and help you navigate caring for your loved ones final disposition in a meaningful way (or yourself!) In 2020 I attended Final Passages Death Doula course in Sebastopol Ca so that I could help families navigate the system and create funerals that felt good to them.  I believe that even in times of difficulty, the farewell can be profoundly beautiful and filled with love . The graveside burials I create are meaningful, creative, and filled with special touches. It is my deepest honor to serve families during this difficult and often unfamiliar time. Lets talk about what we can do to celebrate the life of your loved one and provide a beautiful burial  filled with meaning and love.  Whoever you are, whatever you believe in or not, final disposition does not need to be a mystery or something 'to get through' but a healthy rite of passage returning ones body to the good earth we live upon.  Lets do this!

It would be my pleasure to meet and work with you,

Sincerely,

Gretchen Spletzer
