Welcome to my resources page.  Here you will find our community cemeteries, their pricing and links to them as well.  I also put a couple local funeral home cremation prices so you can easily access the information.  

Cemeteries and Prices

Green Burial cemeteries are very special places to visit.  A lot of care goes in to the stewardship of them and taking good care of the families who use them.  As you plan your disposition I highly encourage you to pack a picnic or bring your dog and go for a visit.  Cemeteries are a place to remember, to enjoy nature and to explore history.

Westwood Hills cemetery is a beautiful cemetery located right in the heart of Placerville with many old local families buried within its grounds.  It has a green section but also allows green burial throughout the cemetery.  The grounds are gorgeous to walk no matter the season and a great place to visit and consider for burial.  I highly encourage a visit when looking for your perfect cemetery for burial.

Historical Cemeteries In El Dorado County

Historic cemeteries that are operated by El Dorado County and accepting green burial are below.  The price of a full plot at these cemeteries is $1000.00 for county residents, with an opening and closing fee of $950 on weekdays and an additional $275 if burial is on the weekend.

Historic cemeteries within the county operated by separate rural boards.

The price for burial plots for Kelsey cemetery are $800 for District residents/land-owners, and $1,250 for eligible non-district residents.  Part of this cost goes toward current District expenses, and a portion (currently $150) goes to an endowment fund for long-term care and maintenance of the grounds.   Please visit their website for more details and information.

While cremation is not considered a green burial there are eco friendly alternatives that can be done with cremains to reverse the carbon foot print of a cremation.  ie.  your cremains can become part of a coral reef or used as part of a tree planting.  Some people use cremains for jewelry, tattoo's, paintings and other forms of sculpture and art.  I wanted to provide information on some of our local cremation options as you make your decisions on disposition.
